Hidden throughout the chapters of Kana: Eternity are Easter eggs.  Expect to find some inside jokes that you probably won't get.  We put them in there just for fun, and most of them will probably be easy to find.  But there'll be at least a few that we'll try to hide really well.  Plus, it'll give you guys something to do to kill some time. =P

Don't let the eggs distract you too much from the story, though.  We wouldn't want people to miss parts of the story while hunting for them.  I'd try to look for them after you've read the chapter at least once.

To make it kind of like a game, I'm going to use this page to list the different eggs that are hidden in each chapter.  If you find one of the hidden eggs, you can send me an e-mail and tell me what it is and what chapter it's from.  The location of the egg will then be added to this page.  The first person to notify me of an undiscovered egg will also have their name (real or alias) added next to it (you can remain anonymous if you wish to).  Typically, you will know that you've found an egg if you see my logo somewhere on the screen, but not every egg may have it show.  A chapter in Bold has all of its easter eggs discovered.

Obviously, J-Pop, Darkling, and myself will not reveal the eggs since it'll ruin the point of the game.  But there might be one or two that we'll point out ourselves if it's particularly funny or hard to find.

EDIT on 07-20-2010:

Well, since nobody ever found the very last egg, I'm going to just list it myself.  It's been over a year since the project was completed, so it's long overdue.

Final Score:

bluedragonx - 23

Battousai9439 - 3

Coolmik - 2

Reza - 1

Zero - 1 (lul)

Needless to say, bluedragonx is the winner!  FATALITY!

Chapter 1 - The Night of the First Farewell

  • When Taka calls Kana, click and hold over "Nan desu ka?" to reveal "Desu desu desu.  Kill yourself desu!"

Zero says:

"This one is a little harder to find because it's hidden within a translation.  Unlike the other eggs, you won't see it unless you actually click and hold on it.  As for the egg itself, 4chan visitors should know about this joke.  This is one of the first memes that I encountered.  At first, I didn't understand it, but then I found the anime that it was from.  For those who are interested, the anime is Rozen Maiden.  Now it's just another stupid joke that my friends and I use."

J-Pop says:

"In Rozen Maiden, if you haven't seen it, this girl uses 'desu' after nearly every single sentence. And with the attention it received at 4chan, we would bug each other with 'desu' a lot. It got to the point where we just told each other to 'kill yourself desu' or any variation of that."

  • When Kana goes to take a shower, click and hold over "bathroom" to reveal "Sorry guys. No naked shot of Kana showering for you. =P"

Zero says:

"Everyone who has played the game knows what I'm talking about here.  I may be joking around, but I was never going to use that picture anyways.  My hosting service wouldn't allow it even if I wanted to."

J-Pop says:

"Don't worry everyone... I wanted that picture too! I wanted everyone to get a good image of thinking about your sister naked in the shower. That could have left a good scar in your head.  ;)"

  • When Taka orders a soda at the restaurant, roll over "soda" to hear the Coca-Cola jingle.

Zero says:

"My brother and I drink a LOT of soda, mainly Coke and Pepsi.  So, of course, we make Taka order one at the restaurant.  The egg implies what kind of soda he's getting.  But the question is: which did he get?  Coke or Pepsi?  *Gasp*  How many licks does it take to get to the tootsie roll center of a Tootsie Pop?  The world may never know..."

J-Pop says:

"A lot of soda? Our blood runs on soda. The Coca-cola song was (and probably will always be) the best song for a soda product. Much better than that Pepsi Ba ba ba crap. Hmm... I wonder if irony will bite us one day and our kidneys will fail after drinking so much soda?"

  • When Taka picks up his chopsticks, click and hold over "chopsticks" to reveal "This used to be 'I smiled and began to eat myself.' Think about it."

Zero says:

"This is a perfect example of what Darkling and I had to deal with when going over J-Pop's script.  I told J-Pop that Taka should really wait until he gets home if he wants to start eating himself.  And don't get me started about the line with the stairs and his shoes..."

J-Pop says:

"Yeah, well... this is why you have editors. You know what you want to say, but you tend to phrase it wrong or leave out important words that build the sentence itself. And just so everyone knows, I made sure that the readers knew where those shoes ended up.  =P"

Chapter 2 - Forgotten Promise

  • When class is over and Taka's friend calls out to him, click and hold over "Shinichi" to reveal "Shinjitsu wa itsumo hitotsu!"

Zero says:

"Anime fans might recognize where this is from.  This is a reference to Detective Conan, also known as Case Closed in the U.S.  Conan Edogawa is really Kudo Shinichi, so when I saw Taka's friend this is what popped into my head.  It's a phrase that Conan often uses, which means 'There is only one truth'."

J-Pop says:

"In between writing Eternity and the birth of my son, Shinichi was one of the names that I was thinking of naming him. But in the end we ended up naming my son Kenshin. But yes, the name is most popular with Detective Conan. And yes, Kenshin is probably closely associated with Rurouni Kenshin in America (because that's all they know)."

  • When Kyoko interrupts Taka and Yumi, click and hold over "Taaakkkkkaaaaa!" to reveal "Ne ne Takepyon!"

Zero says:

"I'm sure at least one of you will recognize what is this making fun of.  For those who don't, it's from another PC bishoujo game, Ever17 ~The Out of Infinity~.  Coco called Takeshi 'Takepyon' throughout most of the game. When Kyoko jumps out in front of Taka and Yumi, I couldn't help but think of Coco's voice saying it."

J-Pop says:

"Lol... I couldn't help but think of Coco with this line, too. While playing Ever17, I was writing Eternity and I guess somewhere in the back of my mind, Coco's voice came through. Not surprising since Coco is the best character and story in Ever17."

  • As Kyoko and Yumi introduce themselves, click and hold over "current" to reveal "Here come the claws! Rawr! Fsst! Fsst!"

Zero says:

"Pretty self-explanatory.  Kyoko and Yumi put up a good front, but we all know what was going on in their heads as they introduced themselves.  ;)"

J-Pop says:

"Yup... women will hate me, but they love to nicely challenge each otherespecially over a guy."

  • When Yumi asks if ramen is okay with Taka, click and hold over "Sounds good" to reveal "Mmmm......salt......"

Zero says:

"This is an inside joke.  My friends like to make fun of me because I love to eat soup.  It's my #1 favorite kind of food.  But since I eat so much of it, I constantly get made fun of for all of the salt that I'm consuming with it.  Honestly, I don't know why I sometimes encourage their behavior.  >_<"

J-Pop says:

"A question that Zero's friends and I have wondered is: if we threw Zero into the ocean, would he soak up all the water? If there's ever a drop in the water levels of the Pacific, you'll know who was at the beach that day.  ;)"

Chapter 3 - Encounters

  • As Taka and Kyoko are leaving the arcade, click and hold over "wall" to reveal "And on the high side of the track Cole Trickle takes the lead!"

Zero says:

"One of our favorite movies from when we were kids.  This is a line from Days of Thunder, a movie starring Tom Cruise and Nicole Kidman about Nascar racing.  J-Pop showed me some clips on YouTube from the film, so the movie was fresh in my head when I made this one.  Watching the movie now that we're older, it was so unrealistic.  But we still love it when the racers put each other into the wall."

J-Pop says:

"Sure the movie isn't realistic, but who cares? Put that guy in the wall. Winning is all that matters. Zero and I could probably verse every line in that movie. Sad... I know."

  • When Taka, Kana, and Kyoko are at the restaurant, click and hold over "unagi-don" to reveal "Must have Beef Udon!!! YUUUMMM!"

Zero says:

"Basically another salt reference, this part makes me think of beef udon.  It's my favorite kind of soup because Japanese food kicks ass.  Just thinking about it makes me hungry. *Drools*  Too bad I don't get to have it that often."

J-Pop says:

"Well... aside from the salt jokes, Zero does eat a lot of soups... period. He and I like the feeling of warm soup in our stomachs (him more than me though). Every time we're at a Japanese restaurant, I know what he's going to get. Hell, you should see the bowl of wonton soup that he'll order just for himself.  >_< "

Chapter 4 - Dreams

  • When class is over, click and hold over "quick" to reveal "Quick? I wish my classes would end quickly! @#$%!"

Zero says:

"As bluedragonx adequately put it: 'Oh, a sentiment shared by all students.'  Indeed, I'm sure that we've all felt like this before.  I didn't put many eggs into this chapter, but when I was going over this scene, this line made me think of a 4-hour class that I had to take.  Jeebus, I've never wanted to sleep so badly in a class like that."

J-Pop says:

"All I have to say is that I'm glad I'm done with school. Sucks to be you, Zero =P"

  • At the credits screen, click the part of the logo that is lit up to hear the sound clip "What's going on!?  And I want the non-gay explanation!"

Zero says:

"Most people will probably be able to recognize the voice from the sound clip.  It's Homer from The Simpsons.  The sound clip is just one of the many random clips that I have on my computer.  I used it because I thought that it fit the situation pretty well.  At the very end of the chapter, Taka sees Yuta and Kana together, and he ends up running away distraught.

"At the time, we were only up to Chapter 4, so Chapter 5 wasn't available yet.  The reader couldn't keep reading to find out what happened next.  So, I could just picture someone reading Chapter 4 and saying, 'What's going on!?' just like Homer here.  And besides, I just think that the sound clip is funny."

J-Pop says:

"I LOLed so hard when I heard this. It was exactly the kind of feeling I wanted a reader to have at the end of chapter 4.

"A lot of people don't like Yuta... in fact, almost everyone I know hated Yuta (except for one girl, who wanted him and Kana together. Eww). So, having him come out of the blue and having Taka only seeing something that he could only misunderstand was perfect to get a reader riled up in the story."

Chapter 5 - A Different Story So Far

  • When Kana look at the parnassus plant, click and hold over "parnassus plant" to reveal "AKA the Para Para Plant."

Zero says:

"This is sort of an inside joke for J-Pop and I.  J-Pop could never remember the name of the plant that Taka gives to Kana in the game, so he had to ask me several times.  It got to the point where he didn't even try to remember the name anymore.  He just kept referring to it as the 'Para Para Plant'.  And thus, the name stuck."

J-Pop says:

"Yes, I couldn't remember what the name of the plant was. When I first saw the plant name, I immediately referred its spelling to Para Para Paradise. So, whenever I had to write the plant name, I always put 'Para Para Plant' in its place. And I will forever be haunted by my spelling."

  • When Taka and Kana break open their fortune cookies, click and hold over "fortune" to reveal "Confucius say fortunes suck these days."

Zero says:

"I love eating fortune cookies at the end of a meal at a Chinese restaurant, but they also bother the heck out of me.  I love actually eating the cookie; I just hate most of the fortunes that come with them.  I get fortunes like, 'You will make a long overdue decision in the near future' or, 'You will achieve the goals that you set in life' etc.  They're either really vague, or they don't apply to me at all.  And the ones that say 'You and your wife will be happy in your life together' are really stupid.  My mom has gotten that FOUR times.  And I'm pretty sure that my mom and dad didn't get married just for the heck of it.

"I'd rather have the fortunes be really specific about something.  Most of the time they won't match with you, but on the rare occasion that they do, it'll feel like the fortune actually has meaning for you.  Or even better, fortunes should refer to the reader by name.  The chances of being opened by a person with that name are so slim, but imagine if it happened to you.  That would be awesome!"

J-Pop says:

"What I actually want to see in fortune cookies are good and bad fortunes. Most of them are either good, vague, or a warning of some sorts. Even though I know fortunes aren't real, I would like to believe them a little bit if I got some good ones and some bad ones that said 'It's going to be rough all day.' or something.

"And our mom is still waiting for her 'wife' to appear."

  • When Kana is in the toy store, click and hold over "Chutes and Ladders" to reveal "Escalators escalators escalators!... Eels... Ah @#$%!"

Zero says:

"J-Pop and I actually played Chutes and Ladders when we were kids, which is why this reference appears in the story.  But that's not the real joke.  In an episode of SpongeBob SquarePants, SpongeBob and Patrick learn some bad words, which they try to avoid saying.  But when they play a game of Eels and Escalators (which is a clone of Chutes and Ladders), SpongeBob keeps riding the eels downward.  On his last roll, SpongeBob will lose the game if he rolls eels again.  So, he furiously chants 'Escalators! Escalators!' and throws the dice.  It almost lands on escalators, but then flips over onto eels, and SpongeBob shouts one of the bad words.  I just found that episode funny, and it's what I thought of when I worked on this chapter."

J-Pop says:

"I don't know the SpongeBob reference (personally, I can't stand the show). But, Chutes and Ladders was a childhood game for Zero and I, so I had to put it in there. But I would @#$% too if I got a chute."

  • When Kana is in the toy store, click and hold over "Nintendo" for 1.5 seconds to slowly reveal "NINTENDO-SIXTY FOOOOOOOUR!"

Zero says:

"We grew up on Nintendo when we were kids, and we still play our old favorites today.  'Nintendo-sixty four' is slowly revealed, mimicking a video that can be found on the internet.  This kid is opening his Christmas present, which turns out to be a Nintendo 64.  But he's so excited that he's screaming at the top of his lungs, and the person who created the video slowed it down while the kid was shouting.  Hearing the kid slowly scream in a low voice 'NINTENDO-SIXTY FOOOOOOOUR!' still cracks me up."

J-Pop says:

"Just YouTube 'Nintendo-sixty four' and you'll see what we mean. Lol. I remember, I think we were playing Smash Bros. Melee, and some of us just got to shouting. I think that one of Zero's friends shouted 'Nintendo-sixty FFFFOOOOOOOOUUUUUUURRRRRRRR'. I LOL'ed so hard."

  • When Kana is in the toy store, click and hold over the second "Pikachu" to reveal "Magikarp! Counter with your splash attack now!"

Zero says:

"I don't play them anymore, but I played the Pokemon games as a kid.  And of course, Pikachu was one of my favorites.  The Kana Little Sister game actually refers to the pikachu doll, which was a present from Taka to Kana.  That's why I hid an easter egg here.  The actual joke comes from a Flash video that I saw on Newgrounds.  It basically sums up how useful Magikarp was as a pokemon.  In the video, two trainers fighting each other both use a Magikarp for their pokemon.  The video is an endless loop of the two trainers shouting for Magikarp to use its splash attack, since that's the only move Magikarp had in the early games.  And of course, splash does jack squat.  It's kind of like having a Metapod and Kakuna fight each other when all they know is harden."

J-Pop says:

"I did throw in the Pikachu because the doll was described in KLS. As for Magikarp... well, SPLASH ATTACK NOW!!!"

  • When Kana, Taka, and Kyoko are having dinner together, click and hold over "Survival Rally" to reveal "She ate the wall. She ate it REAL good!"

Zero says:

"Anyone who has seen the commercials that have the two turtles for Comcast should get this joke.  In one of the commercials, the male turtle is trying to push his laptop farther away from his house to test the speed of his internet connection.  He has trouble pushing it, and the female tells him to push it harder.  He snaps back at her, 'You come push it!  You push it REAL good!'  I found it hilarious, and my friends and I constantly use the line as a joke.  It's funnier to hear us actually saying it, rather than reading it, though."

J-Pop says:

"This has been a running joke with us for quite a while now. It basically replaced our 'desu', and we use 'Yeah, you got it. You got it REAL GOOD.' or anything to that effect."

  • When Yuta invites Kana out to eat, click and hold over "Pasta Pomodoro" to reveal two red-highlighted P's.  While on the same screen, press the 'P' key on your keyboard twice to reveal "Simply amazing.  J-Pop you baka."

Zero says:

"This is definitely my best hidden easter egg so far.  The first part is easy, but I wanted to make everyone really think about what the two highlighted P's meant.  And actually, you only have to press the 'P' key twice when Yuta says his line to reveal the egg.  You don't have to click and hold over Pasta Pomodoro first.  That only gives you the clue to the real egg.  And whether you close the egg by pressing the 'P' key again or not, it'll disappear when you keep reading through the scene.

"I just had to say what I did because I was stunned when I first read this chapter.  J-Pop had thrown in a lot of other references in this chapter, but geez.  Did he really have to use Pasta Pomodoro?  For those who don't know, Pasta P is an actual Italian restaurant, and their food kicks ass.  Also, they can add shots of vanilla to your soda, which simply rocks.  Our older sister used to work at Pasta P for years, which is where the reference comes from.  Regardless, I still found it a little silly to use it in the story.  But that's J-Pop for ya."

J-Pop says:

"Zero and I convinced our sister to play KLS shortly after I had finished playing it.  At first, I was the one who told her to play the game.  But, it wasn't until Zero also talked to her that she was really convinced about it because when Zero says that something is 'good', he really means it.  She did enjoy the game, but she thinks that we're both crazy (more so me than Zero).

"So, this egg was mostly for her because, as Zero mentioned, it's the place where she used to work.  If she reads Eternity, she might get a little kick out of it."

Chapter 6 - A Familiar Place

  • When Yumi leaves Taka in the hospital lobby, click and hold over "do" to reveal "Yeah, DO A BARREL ROLL!"

Zero says:

"Older gamers will recognize this one right away.  If you don't, then you missed out.  Star Fox 64 is an old, but awesome game on the Nintendo 64.  It was one of my favorite games growing up.  I even bought it on the Virtual Console for my Wii, just so that I could play it again.

"However, even though Star Fox 64 was a great game, there were little things about it that bothered me.  For one thing, even though Falco could actually help you by killing enemy ships, he always got jacked up really fast.  So, you constantly had to cover his ass.  Slippy was completely useless.  Even though being able to see the boss's health gauge was nice, it didn't help with actually killing him.  And Slippy would always whine about not being able to shake off enemy ships.

"But, probably the biggest thing that bothered me was Peppy.  It was nice having him there to teach you the controls when you were new to the game, but after that, he just got annoying as Hell.  Seriously.  He keeps giving you commands like, 'Press Z or R twice to do a barrel roll!' or, 'Try a somersault!'.  He just wouldn't shut the heck up.  It got to the point where I'd shoot him down myself just so that he'd have to go to the garage for repairs.  That taught him to bark commands at me.

"Regardless, whenever I hear the question of what someone should do, by reflex I'll say, 'DO A BARREL ROLL!'.  My mind has truly been poisoned."

J-Pop says:

"'Do a barrel roll' is the universal answer to anything. It's especially hilarious when you and your friends are in a goofy mood and someone uses the word 'do' in the form of a question. Just quickly respond with, 'DO A BARREL ROLL!'

"Whenever Peppy was under attack and would ask for your help, I just wanted to tell him to 'do a barrel roll' his damn self."

  • When Taka hears Miki's voice as she enters Kana's old room, click and hold over "Miki!" to reveal "Ooooh yeah! It's SHOWTIME!"

Zero says:

"This is one is more obscure.  Anyone who has watched the anime Amaenaideyo!! or Maburaho might recognize this.  Specifically in Amaenaideyo!! because it happens more frequently.  During certain scenes where something sexual or perverted occurs, this one sound clip of a guy shouting, 'Ooooh yeah!  It's showtime!' plays.  It's friggin' hilarious.  You have to hear the voice for it to be really funny, though.

"So, when Miki suddenly shows up, all I can hear in my head is that guy shouting that phrase.  Kana Little Sister IS a bishoujo game, after all."

J-Pop says:

"I have no idea what this sounds like. The only 'showtime' I know of is from Big O. But, I knew that wasn't the reference. Maybe one day I'll know."

  • At the credits screen, click and hold over the tiny '5' in the top left corner to reveal "Vote 5!".  While on the same screen, press the '5' key on your keyboard to reveal "Yay!  Thanx for voting!  ^_^"

Zero says:

"This egg is based off of Newgrounds.  It's a site where Flash artists can upload their videos for other people to watch and vote on.  One of the things that I've often seen is that the creator will put the message 'Vote 5' somewhere in the Flash video.  When you as a user vote on the Flash, you give it a score from 0-5.  So, it's obvious why some people put this message in their video.  Now, I don't really mind this when it's hidden in some clever way like an Easter Egg or something like that, but I don't really like it when someone just blatantly shoves it in your face.

"Getting back on track, I just thought that it would be fun to hide this kind of egg in this chapter.  And, of course, I added pressing the '5' key to make it more interesting.  It doesn't actually vote on it, though.  It's just meant to be for fun.

"And, for those curious, yes, I do have an account on Newgrounds.  But, no, I won't say what it is.  Newgrounds is what got me to learn Flash in the first place.  Without that site, I might not have ever created the Flash for KFF or Eternity.  Nonetheless, I'd rather not reveal it.  I only have one video on the site, anyways.  It's the very first Flash that I created from scratch.  Even though it got a passing score to stay on the site, it's not really worth watching.  Looking back on it now, I really could have done a better job on it.  Oh well, it was basically a practice video.  But at least it got me into Flash."

J-Pop says:

"Newgrounds is a great site that's full of interesting Flash creations. But, there are people that are just annoying, and it shows in their Flash creations or reviews. If it wasn't such a flaming site, I would have liked to have had Eternity on Newgrounds. But, considering what Eternity is based from, it's probably best that it just stays here.

"BTW everyone... Zero will do whatever it takes for that one dollar. =)"

Chapter 7 - Cherished Moments

  • At the introduction notes screen, click and hold over "Zero" to reveal "No! You just divided by zero! Oh shi-"

Zero says:

"There wasn't any specific reason for this egg.  I just popped into my head as I was writing my notes.  Someday, I'll make a calculator that can divide by zero.  Then it'll look like this."

J-Pop says:

"I've lol'ed so much at 'divide by zero'. It's just a running joke to give someone a question that they can't answer... and it's funny to see them try.

"I wonder why the 'great mathmaticians' so badly want to solve the square root of a negative number by making it imaginary, but they don't care to figure out how to divide by 0. Oh well, we'll all be sucked into a black hole when Zero finds a way."

Zero says:

"You have to be around our generation's age to know this one.  Everyone should know who James Bond is, but I'm pretty sure that not everyone knows about the old cartoon series.  James Bond Jr. was the nephew of James Bond, and he starred in a cartoon series that aired back in the 90's.  I actually can't really remember much about the cartoon.  It's been so long since I've watched it.  But for some reason, when I read 'secret agents' in this scene, his annoying line echoed in my head."

J-Pop says:

"Not everyone (for the most part) has heard of the cartoon series. But, he says this line at least once in every episode. It just kinda sticks with you."

  • When Otousan lays down the Red Skip card, click and hold over "No!" to reveal "MY HELMET!!! CHARLES, NO!!!"

Zero says:

"You'll either get this one right away, or you'll have absolutely no clue about it.  It's not a direct quote, but it's essentially a line from this one video where some guys dubbed over parts of an episode of the X-Men cartoon.  The first time I saw it, I laughed my ass off.  It was one of those videos that started out as just a joke, but it quickly became popular over the Internet.  It has a lot of swearing in it, but I still think it's hilarious.  Once you've seen it, you'll understand why this egg fit so well.

"Also, I haven't actually seen the third X-Men movie, but I know that there's a scene that makes a reference to this video.  It's amazing how a simple video can turn into something so big that it gets referenced to in a movie."

J-Pop says:

"I still laugh everytime I watch the video. It's my favorite line next to, 'Not as long as I'm wearing these Jamaican colors.'

"The line in the third X-Men movie was 'I'm the Juggernaut, bitch!', which also came from the dubbed video."

  • When Taka and Kyoko are shopping for food, click and hold over "Yan Yan" to reveal "They better be strawberry flavored."

Zero says:

"The Yan Yan is another reference from our lives that J-Pop put into the story.  Yan Yan is a Japanese snack food that we ate a lot as kids.  We still enjoy eating them, too.  For us, the sticks were always the regular kind, but the dip came in two flavors: strawberry or chocolate.  The chocolate was okay, but we always preferred the strawberry flavored dip.  I've tried the Vanilla flavored dip, and it does taste good, but as the egg says, it's gotta be strawberry flavored for me.

"Also, this is one of the few personal references that J-Pop put in the story that actually makes sense.  Taka is in Japan after all, so it wouldn't seem strange to eat a Yan Yan.  Now, if only the other references made sense... *cough* *cough* Pasta P *cough*."

J-Pop says:

"I have to concur with Zero. We loved Yan Yans during our childhhood, and we still love them today. I always thought that I would love the vanilla flavor, but, for some reason, there just doesn't seem to be any other flavor that I want other than strawberry."

Zero says:

"I hadn't eaten all day when I was working on this particular scene.  So, when Kyoko brought out the chicken stir-fry, it made me really hungry.  It also made me think of a scene from the movie Pleasantville.  One of my favorite scenes was when the father came home and didn't get his dinner for the first time.  I thought it was pretty funny."

J-Pop says:

"ROFL... Zero gave you guys the G-rated version. I'll tell you how this line is really used:

*As Zero leave's J-Pop's room*

J-Pop - ZZZZEEEERRRROOOOOOOO...

Zero - What...? NO!

J-Pop - Come on... get me a soda.

Zero - Make me dinner, bitch! (or sometimes said 'Bitch, make me dinner!')

"Silly Zero... Kyoko wouldn't silence you. She's not even real. I'll tell you guys. It begins with an 'L' and ends in an 'E'.  Give up? Well, it's L-

*BANG*

  • On J-Pop's page of the chapter notes screen, click and hold over "Eternity" to reveal "~E~t~e~r~n~i~t~y~".  While on the same screen, type out 'eternity' on your keyboard to listen to a music clip.

Zero says:

"This is an egg that I've been waiting to put in since the beginning of the project.  Like the Pasta Pomodoro and Newgrounds egg, you don't have to click on the word for the egg; it's just the hint.  You only have to type out the word 'eternity' to hear the egg.

"The music clip that you hear is from the song called 'Eternity' by Denise.  It's part of the album Super Eurobeat 089.  The Super Eurobeat albums have awesome music, but it's not a genre for everyone.  My friends make fun of me for listening to it, but I don't care.  I think they're awesome.  The albums, I mean; not my friends.  Screw them.  XD

"After I thought of the idea to put easter eggs in the Flash chapters, I was listening to my usual music.  When this song played, I thought it would be a perfect egg to put in at some point.  I just had to wait for a good opportunity.  J-Pop finally gave me one, so I finally put it in."

J-Pop says:

"I had to hold off from using the word 'eternity' in the entire story because I knew I wanted to use the word in the final chapter.  So, I can't even recall an opportunity that Zero had to use this egg.  I also usually ramble in my author's notes, so I don't know if he had any other chances to use this egg."

Chapter 9 - Eternity

  • During the opening animation, an extra symbol fades in with the black writing of the KLS logo.  When the animation stops, click and hold over the symbol to reveal "You ready to reap the whirlwind?"

Zero says:

"I think nobody found this egg because it wasn't in the first version of Chapter 9 that we released.  I intentionally kept it out since we planned to release a second version with all of the endings.  It's also a really hard egg to notice, and even if someone tried to look for it in the first version, they probably wouldn't think to look again in the second version.

"Anyone who has played the original Starcraft will recognize this line.  It's one of my favorite quotes from the Terran Ghost unit.  I thought the line would fit perfectly with this chapter because Taka has just revealed his biggest secret to Kyoko, and now he has to deal with the consequences.  It's time for him to REAP THE WHIRLWIND!"
